“As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua made this declaration as a statement of his faith in the one true God. It is still a very purposeful sentence for me to claim today with the myriad of philosophies and religions in our world. This is why I’ve chosen this passage as my family’s motto.

My wife Stacey and I are high school sweethearts who went on to the same college, Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. She graduated in 1996 and we were married later that summer. I graduated in 1997 with a Bachelors of Science in Education with a concentration in Physical Education and Social Studies. Since then I have served three schools as a teacher and administrator: one in Wisconsin and two in California. We have five children. Two are now married and are teachers in Wisconsin and Florida. Two are at Martin Luther College, our alma mater. And our “baby” is starting high school. We are so excited to be part of Cross of Glory’s ministry to the congregation and Peoria community.

I cherish the partnership that I’ve had with parents as both the classroom teacher and the administrator in working together for the good of their children. I enjoy math and English quite a bit. I love coaching youth and seeing them develop their individual skills as well as benefit from team sports.

In my free time I enjoy playing guitar and drumming, watching Marvel movies with my family, and lounging in the pool.
