Mr. Pappenfuss

Biography:

I have been teaching for five years at Cross of Glory and 39 years altogether. I graduated in 1983 from Martin Luther College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with History and Science as areas of concentration. In the summer of 1983, I married Kim Joseph, a college classmate, and we moved to Houston, Texas. While teaching at Christ the Lord in Houston, we were blessed with the first of our four children, Samuel (88). Soon after came Krista (89), Remington (91), and Isaac (93). All of our children are married and they all have children.  Four years ago, when we arrived at Cross of Glory, we had no grandchildren. But now we have six, Zeke, Reuben, Josiah, Weston, Ellowyn, and Zed. Our daughter is also expecting her second child around Christmas time. I am glad we have the technology to see and talk with our family back in the Midwest. If you ever want to strike up a conversation with Kim or me, just ask us about our grandchildren.

Over the years I have taught students ranging from grade 3-8 in Texas, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Arizona. I hold a state of Wisconsin teaching license and completed a Master’s program with an Instructional Emphasis from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN.

I do not know what my favorite class is, but in whatever I am teaching I enjoy the opportunity to present everything from the Christian worldview and to encourage students and families to grow in Christ. My favorite Bible passage is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” It is always good to know that God has my back, but with the Corona virus and uncertain times, it seems more comforting.
