Mr. Meitner

Mr. Merl Meitner has accepted a one-year Call to serve as the 5-8th grade teacher and to share principal responsibilities with Pastor Foxen. Mr. Meitner retired from his position as the principal/administrator of West Lutheran High School in Plymouth, Minnesota at the end of 2014. He most recently taught religion 10 & 11, pre-algebra 9 and directed the business affairs of the school’s development. Since his retirement, Mr. Meitner has served one-year positions at St. Paul, Bloomer, WI and St. Paul’s First in North Hollywood, CA.

Prior to his work at West, Merl had served at Friedens Lutheran Church as the principal and 7-8th grade teacher in Kenosha, WI; Shoreland Lutheran High School in Somers, WI; Peace Lutheran as principal and 5-8th grade teacher in Santa Clara, CA; and Apostles Lutheran, as 4th-5th grade teacher in San Jose, CA. Prior to teaching, Merl served in the US Army as a personnel specialist.

Mr. Meitner and his wife Cinda have had a home in Chetek, WI for the past 20 years. They have been married for 46 years and have been blessed with 4 children and 8 grandchildren. Cinda is a retired WELS/ELS teacher, having served most recently for 14 years as the first grade teacher at King of Grace Lutheran (ELS) in Golden Valley and then, for 2 years as the first and second grade teacher at Holy Trinity, in New Hope (WELS), and a preschool teacher at St. Paul’s, Bloomer and St. Paul’s First in North Hollywood, CA.
